Project Overview

Talon Energy was awarded a major contract by Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro to carry out the installation and exchange of approximately 10,000 single-phase smart meters. These meters, located across customer premises in various distribution regions, play a key role in advancing the province’s clean energy goals through improved grid efficiency and data tracking.

This project is part of a larger initiative to modernize the electrical grid infrastructure, enabling better load forecasting, outage response, and energy usage insights for consumers.

 

Our Role

Talon provided full-service delivery for this province-wide rollout, including:

  • Coordinating site access and scheduling with homeowners and businesses
  • Removal of legacy analog and digital meters
  • Installation and configuration of new smart meters
  • Quality assurance and data validation
  • Compliance with all safety, electrical, and utility standards
